FOR OUT OF STATE CLIENTS (Virtual Service)

STEP 1: Virtual Consultation

Timeline: Week 0

  • Schedule virtual consultation via Zoom/FaceTime ($50 fee)

  • Duration: 45 minutes - 1 hour

  • What happens:

    • Discuss your vision, event, and style preferences via video call

    • Review inspiration photos you've shared in advance

    • Review fabric swatches (digital or mailed samples)

    • Discuss timeline, budget, and complexity

    • Explain remote fitting process

  • Required before call:

    • Email inspiration photos/Pinterest board

    • Provide event date and location

    • Complete preliminary measurement form (sent via email)

STEP 2: Professional Measurements

Timeline: Within 1 week of consultation

  • Take your own measurements with detailed video tutorial we provide or via video call during consultation.

      • May require a second person to help

      • Must follow our exact measurement guidelines

      • Submit photos/video of measurement process

  • Critical measurements needed:

    • Bust, underbust, waist, high hip, low hip

    • Shoulder width, arm length, back width

    • Hollow to hem, shoulder to waist, waist to floor

    • Any additional measurements per design

STEP 3: Design Proposal & Agreement

Timeline: Within 5-7 days of receiving measurements

  • Receive detailed design sketch via email

  • Fabric swatches mailed to you (if not already sent)

  • Review itemized quote

  • To proceed:

    • Approve design and materials

    • Sign digital design agreement

    • Pay 50% deposit 

STEP 4: Fabric Selection & Sourcing

Timeline: Week 1-2

  • Final fabric approval via photos/swatches

  • Materials ordered

  • Production begins once all materials arrive

  • You receive email confirmation of start date

STEP 5: Virtual Check-In - Construction Phase

Timeline: Week 3-4

  • Scheduled video call (15-30 minutes)

  • What happens:

    • Show you progress photos of your piece

    • Discuss any adjustments based on construction

    • Confirm details (placement, proportions, etc.)

    • Answer any questions

STEP 6: Mock-Up Fitting (If Applicable)

Timeline: Week 4-5 For Complex/High-Investment Pieces Only:

  • Mock-up garment (muslin) shipped to you via expedited shipping

  • Try on and assess fit

  • Virtual fitting via video call scheduled

  • Take photos from multiple angles and send

  • Note any fit issues

  • Ship mock-up back to us

  • Final adjustments incorporated

  • Additional cost: $75-150 for mock-up creation and shipping

STEP 7: Progress Updates

Timeline: Throughout construction

  • Regular photo updates sent via email or text

  • Behind-the-scenes of embellishment work, construction details

  • Opportunity to request changes before completion

STEP 8: Final Photos & Approval

Timeline: Week 7-8 (or per timeline)

  • Receive detailed photos of completed dress from all angles

  • Virtual "reveal" call if desired

  • Final approval before shipping

  • Pay remaining balance

STEP 9: Shipping & Delivery

Timeline: After final payment

  • Dress professionally packaged and insured

  • Shipping options:

    • Standard (5-7 business days): $25-40

    • Expedited (2-3 business days): $60-85

    • Overnight: $100-150

  • Tracking number provided

  • Signature required upon delivery

  • Arrives with steaming/care instructions

STEP 10: At-Home Try On & Final Adjustments

Once received:

  • Try on your dress immediately

  • Document fit via photos

  • Schedule video call if any concerns

  • If alterations needed:

    • Minor adjustments: Find local seamstress (we provide specific instructions)

    • Major issues: Ship back to us (rare, but we cover return shipping)

    • Final alterations covered within 14 days of receipt

STEP 11: Rock Your Event!

  • Share photos from your event

  • Tag us on social media (@astonishingapparel)

  • Leave a review
